My Review:

Sun Damaged is a well written, tension filled thriller that will be great to read on the beach this summer.
This book starts off slowly which I loved as it gave me plenty of time to get to know the characters and the pressure cooker like situation they find themselves in. I always enjoy books that involve groups of friends as there’s always lots of stuff to unpick and discover. This book was no exception and I loved learning more about each character and to try and figure out who was conning who.
The author does a great job of setting the scene so that I felt I was actually there watching everything unfold. The descriptions of the relentless heat made it almost palpable and helped cause a lot of the tension in the book as the temperature climbed higher so did people’s tempers. There was a lot of atmosphere in the book which slowly increased as the book progressed. I had a sense that everything wasn’t going to end well and both wanted to keep reading to discover what happens but also slow down as I wasn’t sure I wanted to find out!
The many fabulous twists kept me guessing and I honestly couldn’t figure out how everything was going to end which made the ending even more exciting!
Huge thanks to Jenny for Hodder and Stoughton for my copy of this book and for inviting me onto the blog tour.
