Book Synopsis:

If you can’t trust your head, can you trust your heart?

If she had been found moments later, Amelia’s heart would have stopped and never recovered. Instead she was taken from the desolate beach to the nearest hospital just in time to save her life. When her sister Lexi arrives from New York, Amelia’s heart is beating, but the accident has implanted a series of false memories. These memories revolve around a man named Sam, and a perfect love story that never existed.

Determined to help her sister, Lexi enlists the help of Nick, a local vet who bears a striking resemblance to Sam. Together, Lexi and Nick recreate and photograph Amelia’s dream dates in the hopes of triggering her true memories.

But as love starts to stir between Lexi and Nick, they must navigate a complex web of emotions. How can Lexi fall for Amelia’s dream man without hurting her sister?

Filled with breathtaking romance, heart-wrenching emotion, the magic of destiny and the power of sisterhood, The Memory of Us is a must-read for fans of Holly Miller and Colleen Hoover.

My Review:

The Memory Of Us is a compelling, emotional book which manages to be both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Firstly this was the first book I’ve read by this author and it definitely won’t be my last. The author has a great way of drawing the reader into the story with her beautiful writing making everything seem really vivid so the reader feels that they are experiencing everything alongside the characters. It certainly is an unusual situation that the sister’s find themselves in and I was very intrigued to see how things would turn out for them which ensured I kept reading.

The characters were interesting creations that I enjoyed following throughout the book. Despite being a few years apart in age, the two sisters are incredibly close and I found it really heartwarming to learn more about them as the story continues. I did like Lexi as I felt she was put in a difficult situation which would be hard for anyone to deal with. It did make me think more about my own relationships and what I would do in the same situation. Some of the things Lexi does to try and help Amelia recover her memory were perhaps a bit over the top but then, I can’t hand on heart say I wouldn’t try everything I could if it was my sister. Nick was my favourite character and I definitely fell in love with him over the course of the book. He’s such a likeable guy and i found it interesting to see his relationship with the girls develop.

The story had a great pace to it and there always seemed to be something happening to keep me reading. The intrigue and the emotions slowly increased as the story continues and I soon found myself sobbing, unable to put the book down as I just had to find out how the story ended. The ending was cleverly done and while I had hoped for a more definite ending it was nice to be able to imagine the ending that I wanted for the charactrs.

Huge thanks to Sophie and Poppy from Head Of Zeus for my copy of this book and for inviting me onto the blog tour. I’ll definitely be reading more from this author in the future.
